Trial Tracking Overview

For a nominal monthly fee, Instant SOLO Server can provide a service for tracking trial downloads and sending teaser emails to customers who have downloaded a trial (customers running their own instance of SOLO Server are not subject to the fee). The trial can be physically located anywhere, so you do not need to provide us a copy of the installation file. The services offer the following features:

Contact and demographic information can be collected from the user and stored in the SOLO Server database.
Using a combination of a tracking cookie and email matching with existing customers, SOLO Server can tie trial downloads to online purchases, allowing conversion rates to be calculated.
A welcome email can optionally be sent to the customer at the time of trial download.
A follow up teaser email can optionally be sent to customers who do not purchase a specified number of days from the initial download.
Trial download information can be viewed per customer on the customer details page, allowing you to calculate marketing information such as how long a user evaluated the product before purchase, whether they purchased after a teaser email was sent, etc.
